EXPERIENCED CHILD CARE AND ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROVIDER

"Children are natural learners"

Hey there! Thanks for visiting my slice of the internet. Who am I?
Hi, I'm Tessa!
Experienced homeschool parent and Child Care Provider here. I've successfully run alternative education nature clubs in the past, (What a blast, we sure made some great memories!) and I absolutely love seeing children explore their creativity and natural ability to learn and soak in the world around them.
I am currently working on getting my Hygge in the Early Years Accreditation as well as a Garden schooling course.
(Recently attended a training session on provocations provided by YMCA Outdoor Learning and St. Clair College.)
Our outdoor space holds a Garden Habitat Certificate through the Canadian Wildlife Federation which we are very proud of and the children are very involved with finding new ways to support our native insects, plants and animals.
Take a look around, and feel free to get in touch with any questions you have.
- Nature's Way is contracted by the Lambton Rural Childcare Agency. This way I can keep the programming great but at an accessible rate. -

ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM

This is for those who are walking down the alternative education path.Homeschoolers, unschool, eclectic, Waldorf, unit study, school at home, etc. There are so many styles out there to fit each individual family.
Here we focus on life skills and nature education.
One Friday each month we meet up and discuss what we are individually and as a group currently interested in. I have a loose plan in place for learning goals prior to the day, however we all know how important it is to have excitement and interest in what we are learning.
Sample topics include: Plant identification, safe foraging, growing your own food, math through baking, fort building. Many other options are available to the children!
We spend most of the time outdoors, which is great for the mind and body.
Oh the possibilities!

Program hours are: 9 -1                             Ages: 3-12                                                      Cost is $20 per day

I only got to have Tessa for two months, because I was unable to stay with her long term. Tessa is a kind, sweet, and caring person; and she was very accommodating for me as well. In only two short months my little girl has developed a bond both with her and her lovely children. Within that time I’ve noticed how engaging Tessa was with the kids under her care. I’ve noticed my child’s growing vocabulary and interest in reading more than usual. My child was able to paint, crafts, read, play indoors and outdoors, getting along with other children. I would highly recommend her.

Tessa provides the kids with a safe, caring and engaging atmosphere. She encourages them to explore using all their senses and have fun both inside and outside. I absolutely recommend!

Tessa is an awesome, caring, creative and charismatic person. Any families that have an opportunity to place their child/ren in her/their daycare are tremendously lucky :)

Tessa is an incredible caregiver, teacher and all around human. They made me feel so comfortable leaving our daughter with them. From the healthy baked goods they created, to the focus on nature and outdoor time and sharing in our love of using cloth diapers, our values aligned. Tessa’s home was/is a safe space for any and everyone and they do their very best to welcome everyone. The kindness they shared with our daughter, made us feel like we were part of the family. I am forever thankful for the time our daughter was in their care.
